Senaatintorilla

Of course, there also was a stop in Helsinki, at the Senaatintori, which is directly in front of the Helsinki city-sign. In summer you can find many people sitting on the stairs in front of the big church, enjoying a break. So did the duckies.

Sundowns at their best

In Ruissalo, Finland, Monty and Klas enjoyed theirselves at a very nice spot nearby the water, taking a day off from all the sightseeing they did so far.

Another day in Turku...

Another famous place in Turku is the cathedral (Turun Tuomiokirkko). It was built in the 13 hundreds and it became place of the Archbishops a bit later. It's worth a visit!

Take a look around...

... there might be duckies!

This picture was taken by the owner of this wonderful blog, and he allowed me to use it for this one here. I love it! LOVELOVELOVE it! It was taken in Uppsala, a student city about 50 minutes by car from Stockholm.

Castles have dungeons, normally...

Of course the duckies also stopped by in Turku, Finland on their big north tour! This picture was taken at Turun Linna ( Castle of Turku). It was build in the 13-hundreds and is the biggest middle-age building that exists in Finland. You can visit this place and check out the castle itself (with guided tours in different languages every now and then, too), as well as the nice museum inside. It's worth it!

Watching television this evening I discovered this wonderful project series by the dutch artist Florentijn Hoffmann, which I just had to show you! I love it!

Another day in Stockholm

When you come from the Vasamuseet, you can take a nice promenade along the water and that is where this picture was taken!

The journey goes on...

Stockholm of course hase more to discover than Solna.
On a more grey day Monty and Klas went to check out the Vasamuseet, where the ship Vasa is being exhibited. It's a H-U-G-E and very impressive ship that sunk on it's first trip in 1628. It was found in 1956 and gotten out of the water five years later where it was brought to the museum to be preserved for the future. At the museum you can check out the process of preserving it as well as it's history and a lot of other interesting stuff. It really is worth checking this place out!

The journey of two rubber duckies...

... called Monty and Klas.
It all begann in 2009. Hamburg. Hamburg Dungeon (yes, I met a duck there. It scared me to death!). Then I decided I needed something cool to bring on vacation to take a photo with. At one of my favourite decorating stores I finally met Monty and Klas. Since then They travelled a lot. Three continents. Many countrys. Join their journey and if you can, take a picture of YOUR little, yellow friend and send it to me.

Now give it up for Monty and Klas!

This picture was taken in Stockholm-Solna on a sunny evening in 2009. They really enjoyed their sunbath!
